Nigerian street-pop star and Pluto President Shallipopi takes his sound to a new realm on “UP (Transovania),” a dark, sub-heavy Edo street-hop single about nonstop momentum.
The song is a victory lap for the Benin City star, who stretches his “Pluto” world into a shadowy, high-energy place he calls Transovania. He rules over his growing movement and shows his rise from the streets of Benin to global stages as a natural alignment of the stars, not luck.
His lines are raw and cheeky, full of Edo slang, Pidgin humour, and street-smart flexes, brushing off doubters like someone playing by his own rules.
A menacing, sub-heavy log-drum bounce and crisp percussive loops run with eerie synth stabs and deep bass that rattles speakers. The beat leaves wide pockets of space, so Shallipopi’s flow can set the pace. He talk-sings in an unhurried, swaggering tone, gliding over the heavy low end in a way that turns simple phrases into instant catchphrases.
If you like street-pop that is dark, loud, and full of attitude, “UP (Transovania)” is a strong pick. Play it with the bass turned up, whether it is a night out or a ride with friends.
